The Aim in-ceiling speaker
range set new standards for both sound quality and versatility.
Within each Aim Series model, both the bass unit and
tweeter could be independently pivoted by up to 30°,
creating a soundstage of incredible focus and precision.
Each speaker can be rotated through 270° and lowered
from the ceiling by up to 45°.
Similar in principle to Aim the
new TIME series, an acronym for Theatre in Motion
Experience, mounts flush in the ceiling. However,
when activated the speakers automatically drop out of
the ceiling at angles 15, 30 and 45 degrees. They then
rotate to any position to create the appropriate soundstage
for the individual theatre application. Sonic performance
is enhanced dramatically due to the exposed position
and the precision with which the speaker can be aimed
at the listening area.
The dedicated command unit and
hand held remote are capable of controlling up to eight
individual TIME speakers, allowing a complete 7.1 system
to be readily accommodated. Multiple speaker position
presets can be stored allowing a speakers soundstage
to be instantly moved at the press of a
button.
Connections to each TIME speaker
could not be simpler. Speaker cable is run, as normal,
from the amplifier to each speaker, while the controller
connects to each TIME speaker by means of a Cat 5 cable.
This provides both motor power and directional control.
