Great Home Cinema on a Budget? Yes You Can!
Most people with access to an office demo projector have smuggled it home at some point, whether to wow the family with a big screen movie experience or impress friends with a larger-than-life football match. But the hassle involved can offset the quality of the experience somewhat. From wrestling with the throw-distance in order to avoid having everyone pressed up against the wall, to getting the image square on that rickety freestanding screen, it can be exhausting! But with a stunning ‘proper’ home cinema set-up for a little over £1,000 why go to all that hassle at all?
The great news is that it’s no longer necessary to fudge a home cinema set up because you can now do it properly without breaking the bank. The latest ‘budget’ home cinema projector from Themescene has blown away all preconceptions of what ‘budget’ means. A few years ago it meant compromising on brightness, contrast ratio, colour management, definition – in fact everything that constitutes great image quality. But the Themescene HD20 has conquered all of that. It’s set a new standard that has paved the way for terrific, high quality home cinema at a truly affordable price.
Okay, you do get what you pay for. And it’s true to say that that HD20’s big brother – the HD86 – is the projector of choice if you’ve got the cash. But just as the new ‘R’ is the crème de la crème if you want a VW Golf, the GTI’s pretty damn fantastic too by any standards! It all comes down to budget. If you want a brilliant all-rounder – a projector that delivers top-notch family entertainment for movies, TV, games and anything else you want to throw at it – you won’t be disappointed. The HD20 delivers in every department.
For a start it’s a 1080p High Definition machine, so you won’t be compromising with any HD content you want to display. It’s brighter than most home cinema projectors at 1700 lumens, so you don’t need to sit in a fully darkened room to enjoy gloriously rich big-screen Xbox or Playstation games, for example. And it boasts an impressive 500:1 ANSI Contrast too. Don’t confuse that with the old fashioned simple contrast ratio we all used to use as a benchmark – ANSI contrast is the new yardstick and the HD20 is right up there with the best of them at this new standard.
But what really impresses is the thrilling realism of watching a heart-thumping movie like Batman-The Dark Knight. The HD23 so immerses you in the action that you almost forget to breathe! In fact, the image quality is so amazing it’s a disappointment watching a movie at the cinema once you’ve experienced this little marvel.
So how do you get to enjoy all of this for a measly Grand or so…? Well, you can actually buy the projector on its own for less than that, and the boys at IntoAV will be glad to help, but let’s suppose you want a permanent set-up to save time and hassle. Add a professional quality wall/ceiling mounted 16:9 projection screen, a ceiling mount for the projector and a premium quality HDMI cable to connect to your favourite High Definition source, and yes you’re talking a tad over a thousand pounds. That’s remarkable value in anyone’s book for something that will give you years of terrific home entertainment. What’s more, if you want it all professionally installed, or want a seriously stunning surround-sound system too, all the help you need is at hand.
Home cinema on a budget has never been more impressive or more affordable, thanks to the new Themescene HD23. So what are you waiting for?
